However, because genuine branded printer cartridges are so expensive there is a considerable difference in price between originals and compatibles. This difference varies depending on the make of printer. Canon, Brother and Epson compatible inks can be up to 75% cheaper. HP and Lexmark compatible tend to a little bit more, costing on average 45% less than genuine inks.
